At the heart of Troy’s passion for food is the world of competitive barbeque. Troy competes on the pro barbeque circuit sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. The KCBS sanctions nearly 300 professional barbeque contests throughout the country.
At each contest, competitors are required to compete in four meat categories including chicken, ribs, pork shoulder, and brisket. Troy has been very successful since his start in 2003 winning over 100 top ten awards, four state titles, and three end-of-year top ten rankings.
